Algae Clean Out
 is a concentrated, EPA-approved, copper-free algaecide that controls green water, string algae, and blanketweed in freshwater and saltwater aquariums, fountains, and small ponds. 

Key Features
  • Target Algae: Specifically targets green water caused by single-celled algae, as well as string algae and blanketweed.
  • Safety: When used as directed, it will not harm fish or live plants. It is also considered reef-safe and non-toxic to pets and wildlife (including birds and amphibians) that might ingest treated water.
  • Invertebrate Warning: It is not safe for use with freshwater invertebrates, including snails, shrimp, clams, other crustaceans, or mollusks. These must be removed before dosing.
  • Water Chemistry: It does not affect biological filtration, alter pH, or contain copper. 

Application Instructions
For best results, manually remove as much algae as possible before treatment to reduce decaying matter. 
  • Dosage:
    • 6 drops per 10 U.S. gallons (37.85 L).
    • 5 mL (1 capful) per 60 U.S. gallons (227.1 L).
  • Application Method: Add the recommended dosage near a filter outflow or high-flow area for rapid mixing into the water.
  • Frequency: Repeat the dose every three days until the algae is controlled.
  • Post-Treatment: Perform a water change 1-2 days after treatment to remove excess nutrients released by the dying algae.
  • Ongoing Prevention: Algae Clean Out treats existing issues but doesn't prevent recurrence. To stop future algae growth, address underlying causes like excess nutrients (phosphates, uneaten food) and light exposure.
