 in the 2oz size is a pure, liquid ammonia solution designed to support nitrifying bacteria during the fishless cycling of a new aquarium. It is widely available for purchase online from various pet and aquarium supply retailers. 

Product Details
  • Purpose: Eliminates the guesswork of using organic materials (like fish food) to create ammonia and establish a healthy biological filter in a new aquarium.
  • Safety: Crucially, it must not be used in any system that contains livestock (fish, reptiles, etc.). Animals should only be added once both ammonia and nitrite levels read zero.
  • Application: Works for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. It comes in a convenient dropper bottle for easy and precise dosing.
  • Dosage: To reach 2 ppm ammonia, add 4 drops per 1 U.S. Gallon (3.78 L).
  • Coverage: The 2oz (58 mL) bottle treats approximately 300 gallons (1,135 L) of water.
  • Use with Bacteria: It is intended to be used in conjunction with a live nitrifying bacteria product, such as FritzZyme 7 or Turbo Start, to feed the bacteria and complete the nitrogen cycle.
  • Composition: The formula contains 40 mg/mL TAN (total ammonia nitrogen).
