Fritz Nature Box is a collection of natural botanicals (Indian almond leaves, catappa bark, and casuarina cones) for aquariums that release tannins and humic acids into the water, creating a natural "blackwater" environment ideal for Bettas, shrimp, and other soft-water fish.

  • Habitat Enhancement: The leaves, bark, and cones provide natural decoration, offer hiding spaces for fry (baby fish), and encourage natural behaviors like spawning and bubble nest building.
  • Safe for Invertebrates: Fritz Nature Box is safe for invertebrates like freshwater shrimp and snails, which can also graze on the biofilm that grows on the decomposing botanicals.
  • Enhances Coloration: The "blackwater" conditions created by the tannins can help enhance the natural coloration of fish. 

Contents and Dosing
The Fritz Nature Box typically contains a mix of botanicals: 
  • Indian Almond Leaves (approx. 5 leaves)
  • Sliced Catappa Almond Bark (approx. 2 pieces)
  • Casuarina Cones (approx. 9 cones) 
Recommended Application:
  • Leaves: One small leaf per gallon.
  • Bark: One bark stick per 25 gallons.
  • Cones: One to two cones per gallon. 
You can add the items directly to the aquarium, or pre-soak them to help them sink faster. They can be left in the tank until they are fully decomposed. It is important to monitor pH levels with a test kit during use and limit pH changes to 0.2 units per day to prevent stressing livestock
